Piercings & Co. · Laval

A storefront for the work that's already there.

One hundred and thirty-six pages have been written for this studio over the past months. This is a draft of the site that finally reaches them — built on your own photographs, your own healing times, and your own words.

Prepared 27 August 2026 Draft theme, nothing published Your live site untouched
The number this started from 1 of 136

Every page written for the studio is live. Exactly one of them could be reached from the menu.

Everything else — thirty placement guides, seventeen towns, the healing chart, the aftercare page — was published, indexed, and invisible to anyone actually on the site. That is what this draft is for.

The home page

What it was being asked to do, and what it can do.

Every figure below was measured on the live page, not estimated.

The four ideas

Each one is built from something the studio already owns.

Nothing here was invented. Every number on the site is read from the same file, so correcting it once corrects it everywhere.

The ear is the menu.

Your own photograph, full width, with the thirteen ear placements marked on the real anatomy. Touch one and it gives its healing time, how much it hurts, and whether it depends on the shape of your ear — then opens the guide already written for it.

One switch, three honest answers.

Compare every placement by pain, by healing time, or by whether you can sleep on it. It says something no competitor says out loud:

One of thirteen you can sleep on. The lobe.

The consultation, made visible.

Four steps, each carrying a real count from the studio's own data — because "we take our time" is a claim anyone can make, and this isn't:

Seventeen of thirty depend on your anatomy. Only two heal in three months or less.

A blank stays blank.

Where the studio hasn't confirmed a number, the site says ask us and shows an open ring rather than a filled one. Nobody invented a healing time to fill a gap. On a page about putting needles through people, that reads as care.

The 136 pages

The writing was good. The page gave it nothing.

A representative guide runs 2,650 words across fourteen headings. It was set at one size throughout, with no way to move around inside it and no next step at the end.

The jewellery

Twenty collections,
every one a dead end.

Each brand page showed a dark band reading “Online Store Coming Soon” and nothing else. No way to ask, no way to book, no way back.

The product, cart and checkout code is byte-identical to what runs on your live site today — seventeen files, unchanged. Adding a product will behave exactly as it does now, and pick up the new type and colour automatically.

What updates itself, and what still needs you.

Nothing on this site needs a developer to keep it current. Nearly all of it reads from what you already do in Shopify.

Happens on its own
  • Add a page in Shopify and it gets the contents list, the larger opening, and the booking ending.
  • The page count on the home page goes up by itself.
  • Add a product and the "coming soon" panel disappears; the grid takes over.
  • Create a collection and it joins the list of houses everywhere.
  • Correct one healing time and every screen showing it changes at once.
Needs a decision
  • 1Your opening hours. Your contact page points at the mall's website, the mall directory says 10:00 on a Sunday and Google says 11:00. The site leaves the slot visibly blank rather than guess — and Google is costing you an hour of Sunday trade.
  • 2Seven numbers the studio hasn't confirmed yet. Those five placements honestly say "ask us" until they arrive.
  • 3Two menu items. The navigation lives in Shopify, not the theme — adding "The library" and "Jewellery" is a two-minute job in the admin.

Not finished yet

The home page in French. All 66 guides are already translated and read properly in French — “Perçage hélix à Laval”. The new home page sections are not. Switch the site to French today and the guides are right while the front page is still in English.

That is my job, not yours, and it is the next thing I do. In Laval it matters more than anywhere, so I would rather you heard it from me than found it.

Have a look at it on your phone.

It opens at your normal address. You'll see the draft; everyone else still sees the site as it is today. The brown strip along the very top is how you know which one you're looking at.

Nothing is published. Your live theme has not been touched and a copy of it is saved separately, so going back never depends on Shopify. Publishing is your decision and yours alone.
